What is an Endorsed Candidate?
Endorsed candidates are those that the San Benito County is recommending that you vote for.
To be endorsed by the San Benito County Republican Party, candidates generally should:
- Have domain knowledge about the office in which the candidate is running for. For board seats (county supervisor, city counsel, school trustee and similar), they should have been attending meetings of the body they are running for. Candidates should not be talking about topics that their particular office has no authority over.
- Know their constituencies, know how their offices affect them, and have and use statisitics that are relevant to their campaigns.
- Be organized in their campaign. They must be knowledgable about the requirements to run, statutory deadlines, signature requirements, and any other obligations to meet.
- Have a website, Facebook page, and have literature
- Use facts when giving progress about their campaign.
- Certain candidates are subject to California Republican Party rules, found below.
